Originating from a late night quest for sonic nirvana, Richard Strong (under the artist name Tsen Ru) turns the mundane into auditory heaven. His newest track isn’t just music; it is called For Roman. It is a moving story told in sound, devoted to his first son.
Artist’s Story
It wasn’t a straightforward path for Richard Strong. What began as solitary evenings spinning tracks on his SL1200s ultimately became Tsen Ru, a project developed over years of collective synergy and genre blending. The turning point occurred in 2017 when I shared “Dreamstate” with friend and fellow musician Harley Stewart. This meeting of minds developed Tsen Ru a niche in modern music. Richard’s vision extends beyond basic composition to produce a soundscape where “wonder and tentativeness give way to inspiration and joy,” as he describes the development of his work to accompany life’s most crucial events.
The Song: “For Roman”
“For Roman” is more than a neo-classical exploration; it’s a journey through anticipation and the promise of new beginnings. Venturing into harmonious layers, the track unfolds like a story—rich, textured, and emotionally resonant. Listeners can expect an uplifting journey reminiscent of artists like Nils Frahm and Max Richter. Listen to “For Roman” to experience the intricate blend of sounds that captures the essence of hopeful wonder, a sentiment echoed in the lives of those welcoming change.
Why It Matters
Beyond its melodies, “For Roman” is about life’s passing through new beginnings. In producing this track Tsen Ru explores themes of expectation, joy and transformation – attractive to anybody who may have ever stepped onto the threshold of the unknown with a hopeful heart. It reminds us that music is more than a manifestation of an artist’s world; it’s a window onto typical human emotion, taking pictures which words can not sufficiently explain.
